You may need an endoscopy if you’re experiencing chronic symptoms like acid reflux, swallowing difficulties, unexplained weight loss, or chronic nausea. We will evaluate your symptoms and decide if you may benefit from this procedure.
While this procedure is minimally invasive, most patients receive sedation and experience little to no discomfort. Most people avoid food and beverages for several hours before the procedure and spend about an hour recovering before heading home.
The procedure itself is short, but patients typically spend 2-3 hours in the office, which includes preparation and recovery time. Since sedation is normally used during the procedure, we recommend bringing a friend or family member to accompany you home.
