Established patients of LA Integrative Gastroenterology & Nutrition can request physician-guided laboratory testing before their next visit. Our physicians help you select the most useful tests, assign diagnosis codes when insurance billing is desired, and make sure your results lead to meaningful next steps. Available options range from standard Quest and LabCorp panels to genomic, mitochondrial, microbiome, and cancer screening tests.

This service is available only to established patients of LA Integrative Gastroenterology & Nutrition. Our physicians can help you choose the right tests and assign diagnosis codes if you would like to use insurance for laboratory billing. The best time to create a testing plan is during a formal follow-up visit, but you may request recommendations before your visit if you agree to the following:
- Send your request through the Patient Portal.
- Schedule a follow-up visit if needed.
- Pay a fee of $125 to $225 to cover the physician’s time to review your chart and make recommendations.
Patients enrolled in our Membership Program may request this service up to twice a year with the physician fee waived.
Available Labs
Genomic Decoding Testing
Our genomic decoding package includes initial genomic testing plus professional services, including data review, one-on-one counseling, and reporting. Reports include a Longevity Screener and Medical Reports, a Medication Check (pharmacogenomics), and Family Planning (carrier status).
Quest Diagnostics and LabCorp
For established patients only. Insurance billing may be possible for patients with insurance who request physician assistance and pay the required fee of $125 to $225 for the physician’s time, or who schedule a follow-up visit.
MitoSwab™ – $395
For established patients only; please send a request through the Patient Portal. MitoSwab is a non-invasive cheek swab test that evaluates mitochondrial health by examining components of the electron transport chain and measuring citrate synthase activity as an indicator of mitochondrial content. Meridian Valley Lab: Oxytocin – $395
For established patients only; please send a request through the Patient Portal. Oxytocin is a hormone involved in social bonding, trust, intimacy, and stress reduction, and low levels have been associated with anxiety, depression, and mood disorders. The 24-hour urinary oxytocin test tracks fluctuations throughout the day.
Fullscript Labs

Galleri Multi-Cancer Early Detection Test – $1,295
For established patients only; please send a request through the Patient Portal. The Galleri test screens for a signal shared by more than 50 cancer types with a low rate of false positives. Phlebotomy service is included.
EsoGuard Esophageal Precancer and Cancer Test – $1,995
For established patients only; please send a request through the Patient Portal. EsoGuard is a non-invasive test for detecting esophageal precancer and cancer. No insurance billing or superbills are available for this test.
Jona Health GI Test – $475
For established patients only; please send a request through the Patient Portal. The Jona Health GI Test uses shotgun metagenomic sequencing to provide a detailed breakdown of your gut microbiome composition.

How much does a pre-visit testing recommendation cost?
The physician fee is $125 to $225, depending on the time needed to review your chart. Members may use this service up to twice a year with the fee waived.
Can my labs be billed to insurance?
Quest Diagnostics and LabCorp testing may be billed to insurance when our physicians assist with test selection and diagnosis codes. Some specialty tests, such as EsoGuard, cannot be billed to insurance.
How do I request a test?
Send a request through the Patient Portal. Our team will follow up with next steps.
Do I still need a follow-up visit?
A follow-up visit may be needed to review results and plan treatment, particularly for abnormal or complex results.
Can I order tests without seeing the doctor?
Yes. Our self-order lab service lets you order specific tests independently.
