Diet the Day Before the Procedure

 
  •  Regular breakfast
  • Light lunch with limited salads, fruits, and veggies
  • After lunch, please stick to clear liquids for the rest of the day.
  • Clear liquids are liquids that let you see the bottom of the glass.
What to Do the Night Before the Test

 

 Start Time: Anytime between 6:30 PM and 10:30 PM.

Recommended: 9:30 PM

  • 1st Step: Mix 2 capfuls of MiraLAX® with 8 oz of water. Drink 1 glass every 5-10 minutes for a total of 4 glasses (8 capfuls in 32 oz).
  • 2nd Step: After 2 hours, mix 1.2 ml (0.3 ml X 4) of Mylicon® drops with 8 oz of water and drink it. This helps reduce bubbles in the GI tract.
  • No drinking after 2 AM. Small sips of water with medications are allowed 2 hours after swallowing the capsule.

 
What to Do the Morning of the Procedure
  • Be at the office or available via video call at the agreed time.
  • If you take medications, do not take them until 2 hours after swallowing the capsule.
  • 2 hours before swallowing the capsule, mix 1 capful (17 grams) of MiraLAX® with 8 oz of water and drink it.
  • Ingest CapsoCam® capsule with 1.2 ml (0.3 ml X 4) of Mylicon® drops in 8 oz of water (bring Mylicon® if coming to the office).
  • Resume clear liquids 2 hours after swallowing the capsule.

 
After the Procedure
  • 4 hours after ingestion: Drink 1 capful of MiraLAX® with a full glass of water. Drink all the contents.
  • WAIT 30 MINUTES AND START HAVING A MEAL AFTER THE ABOVE

 
Suggested Foods for First Meal (typically 4 hours after ingestion)
  •  Salad with light dressing
  • Toast with butter
  • Hard-boiled egg or omelet
  • Yogurt with a piece of fruit
  • Oatmeal or porridge
  • Avocado or ripe banana
  • Applesauce
  • Plain bagel
  • Pudding
  • Cottage cheese
  • Soup and broth
  • Cooked vegetables
  • Small cup of white rice
  • Protein bar
